His brother Reverend Ken (the revered pastor of Christ Embassy Houston, Texas Church) and a member Christ Embassy Central Executive Council are his two sisters. Pastor Chris has two daughters: Carissa Sharon and Charlene. Carissa Sharon, also known by CSO she has chosen to follow in the footsteps of her father and share the gospel of God the world. She is a talented gospel singer who has won awards and is an active member of the LoveWorld Music and Arts Family.

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome began his education at Edo College. Then he was granted a scholarship to pursue studies at Bendel State University, now Ambrose Ali University. There he earned a BSc. in Architecture as well as an honorary Doctor of Science. He also holds an honorary doctorate of divinity from Benson Idahosa University.
