Lightest Double Stroller
When looking for a light double stroller, weight and folded size are the most important aspects to take into consideration. When not in use, pick one that is easy to maneuver and small in size. This makes it easier to store it in your car trunk and navigate through airport gates and international roads.
The best strollers that are lightweight have an easy, light fold and self-standing mechanisms to reduce the strain on parents’ bodies. Many also come with a wide range of seating configurations and can accommodate infant car seat carriers.
Kolcraft Cloud Plus
Designed for the family traveling. Lightweight and compact, with an easy fold with one hand. side by side double stroller -terrain wheels and front suspension, as well as the multi-position reclining seat, can accommodate children weighing up to 50 pounds. Trays for both children and parents with a large storage basket as well as 3-tier extended canopy with the ability to peek through the window for maximum sun protection.
The Cloud received one of the lowest marks in our quality tests because it has a weak seat, made of hard plastic, and a design which feels dated. It’s also expensive compared to other lightweight strollers and is therefore not a good choice in the event you’re looking for a low-cost option.
It’s not the lightest stroller but it has enough features to make it worth a look. Its swiveling wheels make it easy to maneuver it on flat surfaces. It also allows you to jump curbs without much effort. The Cloud’s low, knee-high handle is a downside. It’s not adjustable, and it’s not adjustable. It’s not comfortable to push it with your legs suspended in the air and it’s not helping that it’s not padded.
During testing, we found that the Cloud was easy to set up and opened. It’s a little more challenging to close the cloud, however. You must slide a slider before you push a large white button to get it to collapse. This can be a hassle especially if you’re trying to manage children while doing it.
The Cloud comes with a compact, but deep storage basket. It can fit an enormous diaper bag. It’s a bit narrow however you’ll probably need to leave something inside to reach back to get it back. The Cloud comes with an adult tray and a child tray, each with two cup holders. However, both are too narrow for larger cups or bottles.
Kolcraft is an established family business that has been in operation since 1946. They started out making diapers and crib pads however, they now manufacture various baby products, including highchairs as well as infant car seats. The company is based in Chicago and is an American manufacturer.
Jeep Destination Ultralight SBS
Jeep Destination Ultralight SBS is a lightweight and minimalist double stroller that’s great for travel. It weighs only 18 lbs, which is lighter than some single strollers. and folds flat for easy transport and storage. It also has independently reclining seats as well as large SPF 50 sunvisors with peekaboo window. The visors can be adjusted to accommodate kids of different heights. Additionally, it comes with one-step linked parking brake that is Disney-sized approved.
The swivel wheel of the Jeep is also ideal for maneuvering over bumps and uneven terrain. However, this stroller doesn’t accept car seats and therefore your children must be at least six months old and have solid neck control to be able to ride in the front seat. The stroller has three panels of sun canopy, and each seat has its own cupholder and snack tray.
Valco Baby Snap Duo Trend is yet another extremely light stroller with a side by side. It’s heavier than the Kolcraft Cloud Plus, at 23 pounds. However, it’s tinier and slimmer (26.5 inches wide!) and is packed with elegant features that make it perfect for travel. It is easy to fold and is very mobile. It fits easily in overhead compartments and the trunks of airplanes.
The Joovy Kooper X2 tri-folds and is ultralight, just like the Summer Infant 3D Pac CS+ Double or Mountain Buggy Nano Duo. It’s quite similar to the Jeep Destination Ultralight SBS, however, it does have some distinct distinctions. It’s more expensive, but it offers a more shady sun canopy and better maneuverability. It also comes with a handy carry strap and can accommodate kids up to 44 lbs per seat.
Summer 3D Pac for Infants CS+
Summer Infant 3D Pac CS+ is a lightweight stroller with lots of features. It is not only incredibly lightweight, weighing just 13 pounds but also comes with a ton of storage options, including cup holders for the parent and child, a child’s sippy-cup pouch and a parent’s storage pouch and more. It can also be used with the car seat of a child and comes with a brake that is easy to engage that is flip-flop friendly. It’s designed to grow with your children from a baby stroller to a toddler stroller by simply attaching the car seat adapters (sold separately) and is suitable for children 6 months old and older.
Another thing to take note of about this stroller is that it has swivel wheels and doesn’t have locking capabilities therefore it may not be the best option for terrain that is rocky or hilly. It maneuvers well on sidewalks that are paved and other smooth surfaces, though it’s an excellent choice for the majority of families.
This is one of the lightest and compact double strollers, with all-size features. The quick-close feature lets the stroller to fold with only one hand in a matter of seconds and is small enough to fit easily into your garage or trunk. It can also be used an infant stroller and is compatible with all car seats without the need for additional adapters.
The Summer Infant 3D Pac CS+ is different from most strollers that are lightweight because it features two separate seats that can hold up to 100 pounds. The seats come with a recline that can be adjusted in multiple positions, separate leg rests, and 3-panel canopies that have flip-out sun visors and peekaboo windows.
The seats are cushioned to ensure the comfort of your child. They also have a 5-point safety harness which can be adjusted to three different height positions. Each seat comes with a built-in infant cushion, which is great for babies. The cup holders for parents and child, the phone holders and the big storage basket will be loved by parents. The stroller can also be outfitted with the Yoyo+ Board, which transforms it into a tandem stroller.
Joovy Kooper X2
The Kooper X2 double stroller is an excellent choice for parents looking for a lightweight double that can carry two kids. The sling-style seats are comfortable, and they offer the same amount of headroom as other double strollers. This allows kids to sit together. Contrary to other strollers with side-by-side seating that are available, the Kooper X2 offers a fully reclined seat that is ideal for napping. Its recline feature is easy to use, however it’s not really flat. Children who are taller may have legs hanging out when in the reclined position. It also has a large canopy that we found to be more effective in blocking the sun’s rays than other options in our review of the best double strollers.
The stroller is light enough to easily navigate through door frames, which was a major problem for us with some other models in our testing. It folds quickly and the handlebars are close to the ground, making it easy transportation. The only drawback is its limited storage space, which is tight when stuffed with things for kids.
Joovy is a family-owned company, creates innovative, functional and high-quality baby products. Their range includes innovative bottles in our top baby bottle review, fascinating strollers like the Joovy Zoom X2 Double and a unique rain cover that can be fitted to many popular strollers. The company’s products are moderately priced, and they often have fun designs that appeal to kids.
During our lab tests of double strollers, we look at several factors to determine how simple an item is to use, including the ease of use to set up and fold, adjust the safety harness and open and close the brakes, lift and carry the stroller as if it were to be placed in a trunk of a car, and then install and remove an infant car seat (if appropriate). We also looked at the durability and strength of the stroller as well as whether each product has an adult tray that can be used by both children.
The Joovy Kooper X2 earned the top score for ease of use in our most recent edition of the top double strollers guide, and also one of the highest scores in our Strollers test program overall. Its simple-to-use design features one-hand recline that is tilt-free and a canopy that rotates forward for shade, a ventilation mesh you can see through when it’s tilted, individual child trays that have built-in cup holders, zip-up parent pockets and a large storage basket.
